ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND
Mosaic Innovates serves high-need youth of color and their families, in underserved and underrepresented communities throughout Washington State. We consistently work to serve similar demographics of people throughout our neighborhoods. Our constituents are on average, 16% African American, 22% Hispanic, 40% Asian, and 22% Other and Mixed ethnicities - primarily of color. We work with youth, ages 3- 24, their families, and other community members. Our programming ranges from inand out-of-school technical skill building and capacity building for professionals and civic engagement and support for our community members.
The capacity building and community empowerment program we are proposing will mobilize the voices of our most underrepresented in the community. We will be serving 5 areas in King County: South Seattle, Renton, Tukwila, Kent and Federal Way.

COMMUNITY SPIRIT
Through community education and student quarterly forums, we have instituted a way to bring parents, community leaders, and educators to quarterly forums where they receive education on how to decipher performance, assessment, and polling data, operate through the education system, navigate choices and options, and also advocate for progress & change. Students attend quarterly forums to learn the importance of education, civic engagement, social justice, and advocacy.
In an effort to build the equitable need within communities of color we serve, Mosaic Innovates helps bridge the information gap between students, parents, and resources; therefore creating effective communication from one generation to the next. By enhancing this type of platform for families it provides them an opportunity to not only outline their needs, but they naturally become the voices of their community. Hence, becoming active members of their community. They are also trained on policies, procedures, and processes to ensure desired measurable outcomes. This work among our organization has helped create and advance equity in a tangible and meaningful way.
